The Seattle Seahawks signed running back Cam Akers to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, while safety Quandre Diggs returned to the organization after signing to the practice squad.
The Seahawks also added cornerback Shaquill Griffin and linebacker Patrick O'Connell to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Cornerback Derion Kendrick was waived and linebacker Chazz Surratt (ankle) was placed on injured reserve.
Seattle (8-3) is in second place in the NFC West with a home game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Akers, 26, was released by the Vikings on Saturday. In three games with Minnesota this season, Akers ran for 19 yards on five carries. The former member of the Los Angeles Rams now returns to the NFC West after 2,044 yards and 13 touchdowns in 56 career games (17 starts) ov
