Police in Nkhata Bay, northern Malawi, have arrested two men on suspicion of stealing assorted goods from a broken-into business shop.
The suspects have been identified as Umali Chikago, 47, and Steven Nkhata, 25, both from Sosola village under Traditional Authority Malanda in the same district.
Nkhata Bay police spokesperson Enala Kalua confirmed the arrests, saying they followed a formal complaint filed by a local entrepreneur whose shop was allegedly burgled by unknown criminals.
“Following intelligence-led investigations, we managed to trace and interrogate the suspects, leading to the recovery of several stolen items,” Kalua said.
