After Hollyoaks celebrated a dazzling 30th anniversary, the residents of Chester ’s most dramatic village are set to explode into our living rooms for many years to come.

Since becoming the first soap opera to go digital in 2023, Hollyoaks’ trail-blazing strategy has seen ratings shoot to its strongest performance in years.

This is in no small part thanks to the highly anticipated return to Brookside broadcast on Wednesday October 22, the UK’s first ever soap crossover episode.

This epic act of fan service was reflected in the viewing figures, making it Hollyoaks’ best-performing episode for consolidated individuals viewing (645k) since October 2021, and its highest consolidated share (5.8%) since February 2020.
