WASHINGTON — Two National Guard members from West Virginia were critically wounded in a targeted, "ambush styled attack" blocks from the White House on Wednesday, prompting President Donald Trump to order a review of all Afghan nationals admitted to the U.S. since 2021.
One of the critically wounded National Guard members was identified Thursday as Andrew Wolfe of Martinsburg, who attended Musselman High School, according to multiple media reports, citing a Facebook post that since has been removed.
Both guardsmen remain hospitalized. The shooting occurred near the Farragut West Metro station, just blocks from the White House perimeter.
