Suspect ID’d after 2 National Guardsmen shot in downtown D.C., more troops sent to city

Streets near the White House remained blocked off overnight after a targeted attack critically injured two National Guard soldiers in downtown Washington. Investigators say the shooting happened around 2:15 p.m. Monday near 17th and I streets NW. Both victims, members of the West Virginia National Guard remain in critical condition.
