The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade gets underway on Thursday with a litany of floats, balloons, marching bands, performers and more weaving their way through the streets of New York City for the 99th time. There will be 28 floats and 28 performers -- to include Wicked: For Good's Cynthia Erivo -- as part of this year's parade, and an impressive 34 balloons as part of the celebration.

This year's parade kicks off at 8:30am ET, and will be hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker of the TODAY Show.

Among the 34 balloons are five new balloons, representing some iconic movie and video game characters. Here are the new giant inflatables that viewers will be able to see on Thursday.

Mario

A little surprising that everyone's favorite plumber isn't a mainstay, but sadly no Luigi to accompany him.

Buzz Lightyear

Woody's best friend and one of Pixar's most iconic characters will certainly be a crowd favorite.

Derpy Tiger

KPop Demon Hunters is making its way to the parade in the form of the silliest blue tiger.

Pac-Man

No ghosts, but the orderly streets of New York City do look a little like the game.

Shrek's Onion Carriage

While this is a very specific reference to the Shrek franchise, but one that feels perfect.
