The Met Office has updated a yellow weather warning issued on Wednesday. The warning which has been extended to Thursday will be in place between 4pm till 11am tomorrow.

According to the Met Office , severe weather conditions are expected to cause significant disruption, with a good chance of longer journey times or cancellations affecting road, air, and ferry services. Driving may be particularly hazardous for high-sided vehicles on exposed or elevated routes due to strong cross winds, and some roads or bridges could potentially close.

There is also a slight risk of power cuts, which may impact other services such as mobile phone coverage
