James Cameron has shared that he was once in the running to direct a screen adaptation of the musical Wicked .
Speaking on the podcast The Town With Matt Belloni , the filmmaker behind hit movies like Titanic , Avatar , The Terminator and Aliens revealed: “I almost made Wicked back when.
“I really love the story, I mean The Wizard Of Oz is one of my favourite [films]. This is going back 15 years…”
However, he ultimately made the decision to step away from the project as, in his words, he “couldn’t find the song”.
Cameron hasn’t ruled out one day overseeing a big-screen musical, though, reiterating that he still considers The Wizard Of Oz to be his favourite film.
