MEDINA, N.D. — Last season was pretty hard to beat for the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan volleyball team.
After all, they won their first-ever Region 1 Tournament Championship which sent them to the NDHSAA Class B State Tournament for the first time.
Then, they wound up placing third.
But M/P-B head coach Jacie Connell knew her team was capable of more.
"I had it in my head all season long that this team had what it takes to make it to State," Connell said. "I even told my husband I bet my girls will be in the state title match at the end of the season."
Connell was right on target with her predictions.
Last week, Connell and the Thunder found themselves playing against Langdon Area/Edmore-Munich in the 2025 Class B State Championship for the first time in program history. The Thunder gave
