A Winnipeg woman says her mother died after waiting more than 30 hours without seeing a doctor at the Grace Hospital emergency department, a case now under provincial investigation and at the centre of a heated exchange in the Manitoba Legislature.

In a widely shared Facebook post published this week, registered nurse Michelle Price described bringing her mother to multiple clinics before they were directed to the ER. She says her mother deteriorated dramatically while waiting for care, eventually suffering multi-organ failure.

“My mom died this weekend after waiting 30+ hours to see a Dr at Grace Emergency Room,” Price wrote.
