I’m thankful for the Loveland Fire Department. I had a beeping smoke detector this morning, and I called the non-emergency number and reported it. The fire department quickly arrived and cleaned and replaced my batteries, which I was very appreciative of, because I’m unable to climb a ladder.

I would just like to call in and say how touched I was by Val McCullough’s columns talking about her late husband Bill’s experience with cancer and how moved I was with her touching column. Thank you, Val.

I am thankful that as I age, my children live nearby and for the little things like a smile from a stranger as I walk into Safeway or a good morning from a neighbor when I go out to pick up my Reporter-Herald in the morning.
