The Minneapolis man accused of killing 34-year-old mother-of-two Mariah Samuels now faces first-degree murder charges.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced two more charges against David Eugene Wright, 50, of Minneapolis this week in connection with the Sep. 14 shooting.
Wright is now charged with one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of first-degree murder with past pattern of domestic abuse, in addition to the previous charges of second-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
Wright is accused of firing around a dozen shots at Samuels, who was struck multiple times in the chest and torso and died at the scene on the 1400 block of Russell Avenue North.
