Peter Kay has admitted that he wears "some kind of a mask" when he takes to the stage, following a rare appearance on TV. Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, the comedy legend, known for such shows as Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, chatted about a trait that he shares with the radio host.

The 52-year-old funnyman will continue his Better Late Than Never tour this December, with the performances due to finish in August 2026. As Peter chatted with Scott, he admitted that he was "nervous". It prompted Scott to admit that he, too, had been a bit nervous and followed up by posing the question of why they both were.
