CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – A man was seriously injured after crashing into a tree in Marengo Township.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies responded to the crash around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 on H Drive North near 22 ½ Mile Road. A Dodge pickup truck was located after it had collided head-on with a tree, sustaining extensive damage and entrapping the driver.
The Marengo Township Fire Department completed the extrication, and the driver, a 39-year-old Marshall man, was transported to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital for treatment. He sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe excessive speed, alcohol and marijuana use played a role in the crash.
