STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Armani Perez scored nine of his career-high 26 points in overtime as Eagle Academy of Staten Island registered a 76-70 PSAL 3A victory over visiting Petrides on Wednesday at Dreyfus Intermediate School in Stapleton.

Anthony Riley added 21 points and 15 rebounds for Eagle, which improved to 2-2 overall, including 1-0 in league play. Justin Wembley chipped in with 14 for the winners.

Petrides played with only seven players because the majority of its roster had to sit out; those players are competing in Sunday’s PSAL 1A city championship game for the Panthers.
