SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission will serve 1,300 meals to people in need this Thanksgiving.

About 300 of the meals will be served to guests staying at the Mission's campus. The remaining 1,000 meals will be delivered directly to vulnerable families and individuals. The Mission is identifying recipients with help from Community Renewal . Volunteers from Riverpark Church will box the meals for delivery.

The Thanksgiving feast is a true community effort. The Giving BAK Foundation is smoking all 1,300 turkeys. This year, the foundation will cook the turkeys onsite at the Mission for the first time. The rest of the meal is made possible by the generosity of The Mission Family.
