What do local members of Congress think about the issues of the day? Answering that is the goal of the Southern California News Group editorial board project In-House Opinions.

From the Inland Empire to the San Fernando Valley, from the South Bay down through the OC to North County San Diego, we are — contrary to national opinion about some kind of same-same California — an incredibly diverse region, with diverse representation in Congress.

Periodically, in print and online, we will ask a set of ten members of Congress and publish their responses (or non-responses).

Of the local members of Congress surveyed so far, Rep. Jay Obernolte so far has declined to answer three in a throw.
