The Soo Greyhounds are adding a former third-overall selection from the Peterborough Petes.

On Thursday morning, the team announced the acquisition of centre Colin Fitzgerald from the Petes in exchange for six draft picks.

The package includes three selections acquired from the Oshawa Generals — a 2027 third-round pick and 2029 second- and third-round picks — along with the North Bay Battalion’s 2028 second- and fourth-rounders and the Greyhounds’ 2029 sixth-round pick.

Greyhounds general manager Kyle Raftis said the club moved aggressively once it became clear the 17-year-old centre was available.
