Southeast Public Health board members have put on hold a staff plan to close eight satellite offices, with some members and other area politicians criticizing the plan.
Staff announced Friday a plan to close eight leased offices across the newly-merged health unit’s region. The health unit leases seven of those offices and owns the office in Cloyne, which staff planned to sell.

But at Wednesday’s board meeting held in Kingston and online, members objected not only to the plan, but also to Friday’s news release announcing it publicly before staff had informed the board.
