It's that time of year when department stores all across the country assemble elaborate holiday window displays, and nowhere are those windows more iconic than in Midtown Manhattan.

Spectrum News had the chance to visit the spaces usually reserved for Macy's windows director Manny Urquizo and his team of designers, builders, artisans, fabricators and animators

Urquizo’s team of craftspeople put together the six windows at the retailer's flagship location in Manhattan's Herald Square

The finished windows include a nod to the first department store Santa, which debuted at Macy's in 1862, as well as other historical markers for the retailer

All the work by Urquizo and his team is now delighting visitors to the window displays
