1NEW SCOTLAND, NY – A group of wild turkeys caused a lighthearted stir Thanksgiving morning after showing up uninvited outside the New York State Police headquarters in New Scotland.

None ended up on the tables of any local officers.

Troopers arriving for duty found the flock wandering the parking lot, appearing to “loiter with feathery intent,” according to a post shared by the agency.

The birds reportedly strutted around police vehicles before eventually dispersing — without incident or citation.

Officials said the turkeys were “free to go with just a warning,” adding a holiday message wishing the community a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
