In effort to end dispute, CRC amends language describing the Park

At its Nov. 20 meeting, the NC Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) voted unanimously to send the Rules Review Commission (RRC) an amended description of Jockey’s Ridge State Park in another attempt to get the RRC to drop its opposition to designating it as an Area of Environmental Concern (AEC).

Frustrated by two years of back-and-forth with the RRC over the proper wording to designate Jockey’s Ridge an AEC, CRC Chair Renee Cahoon noted at the meeting that “this description just became a problem in August—amazing after 40 years.”
