An entire Scottish village has been invited to Vienna by the Austrian capital's tourist board . Every resident in the village of Dull will have the opportunity to go on a free holiday to the much-sought-after European city. ‌

The Perthshire village, which only has around 100 residents , will receive wax-sealed invitations delivered in person, along with Viennese goodie bags, on November 29 and 30, in a move that has surprised but delighted locals. ‌

The tourist board chose the village, which is paired with Boring in Oregon, to prove that Vienna is anything but dull in January following the festive period as part of a new cultural initiative. ‌
