RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) - A 25″ Christmas Tree grown in Whitetop (Grayson County) is expected to glow in an event taking place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Richmond, according to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) .

The 25-year-old fraser fir tree, spanning a massive 30-foot circumference at the base, was erected recently at Capitol Square.

There will also be an open house at the Executive Mansion, officials say.

The free event will start at 5:00 p.m.; the promoters are encouraging residents to bring families and friends to enjoy the lighting.
