CAIRO, Ga. (WCTV) - Your help is needed to honor fallen veterans this holiday season in Grady County.

Last year was the first time Grady County took part in this initiative. Ruby Moore, the coordinator for Grady County Wreaths Across America , said they were able to honor 80 veterans at four local cemeteries. This year, they’re adding the four city cemeteries in Cairo and are looking to honor 1,400 veterans.

“In the local cemeteries, you know a lot of, unfortunately, people in the family have passed, so nothing is getting put out there, so at least this is a way to honor them in a special time of year,” Moore said.

This year, they’re looking to provide wreaths for the following cemeteries: Cairo City Cemetery, Crestview Cemetery, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, Pine Hill Bap
