FORT WORTH, Texas — As everything in the U.S. gets more expensive, the emergency medicine team at Texas Health Resources is doing what it can to make sure their team member can see his family this Christmas.

In an Instagram post , Dr. J. Mack Slaughter showed a moment where he and his team broke the news to Diego, their environmental services worker, that they had raised enough money for him to visit his family in Colombia.

"Our environmental services worker, Diego, is one of the most KIND, HARD WORKING, and POSITIVE individuals I’ve ever met," Slaughter wrote in the post. "He NEVER complains and almost ALWAYS has a smile on his face, but talk to Diego for any length of time and it is clear that he deeply loves and very much misses his wife and daughter."
