Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch (32) tackles Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) during the second half at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Josh Jacobs missed Week 12, but his Green Bay Packers didn't miss a beat on the ground. Emanuel Wilson took over top tailback duties against the Minnesota Vikings and responded with the best game of his career. The longtime backup ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns and was named FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week alongside Detroit Lions' running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

That means Jacobs won't have to be 100 percent for Green Bay to bring a dynamic rushing attack against Gibbs on Thanksgiving. The three-time Pro Bowler and 2022 NFL rushing yards leader will return to action to kick off the holiday action in Michigan. After a one-game absence, Jacobs is expected to step back into his leading role against the Lions' top-five rushing offense.

How did Jacobs do the last time he faced the Lions?

Jacobs was a key part of the Packers' 27-13 win over Detroit back in Week 1. While he only rushed for 66 yards on 19 carries -- a modest 3.5 yards per touch -- his three-yard touchdown plunge in the fourth quarter effectively iced the game as Green Bay opened the season with a statement win. He's scored 25 rushing touchdowns in his last 20 games in green and yellow.
