Ryan Williams and KJ Lacey have combined to win the last three Mr. Football Awards. Would the voters will give the prestigious honor to a player from Saraland High School for a fourth straight year?

Any conversation about the best high school football player in Alabama in 2025 would be incomplete without considering Spartan quarterback Jamison Roberts.

The junior has directed Saraland to a 12-0 record and a spot in the Class 6A semifinals Friday night against a talented team from Benjamin Russell (12-1). The Wildcats’ only loss came in Week 1 to Class 7A finalist Opelika.

In his first year as a starter, Roberts has completed 76 percent of his passes. He has thrown for 2,874 yards and 32 touchdowns. Perhaps more impressively, Roberts has run for 635 yards and 19 touchdowns.
