SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah is helping commuters use their electric vehicles by providing charging stations on campus.
Masood Parvania , professor and founder of Grid Elevated, said the old chargers on campus often didn’t work, so his company, along with Leaders for Clean Air and the Kiessner Foundation, donated software to help get 100 stations onto the campus.
By Tuesday afternoon, at least 60 stations were installed, and charging station use on campus had increased 400%.
Parvania said the university is one of the largest commute destinations in the state, and once all 100 stations are installed, it will have the highest concentration of chargers in the state.
