The turkeys that were once docile, gentle, living, sentient beings, are nothing more than brutally slaughtered carcasses on Thanksgiving plates. These were not adult turkeys who lived a long life. They were improperly bred, causing their legs to be crushed in being unable to support their excessive body weight. They lived in overcrowded, windowless factory farms reeking of ammonia, with no access to fresh air, proper diet, and fresh water. At 14 – 24 weeks, they’re brutally slaughtered. The pro life movement should put their money where their mouth is and vigorously fight for these turkeys, like they fight to protect unborn 14-24 week old human fetuses.
