AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - With the holidays underway, Citychurch Amarillo is offering resources to local children in need.

From now until Dec. 31, the nonprofit will provide emergency food boxes, winter apparel and Christmas gifts for over 1,500 children.

Citychurch says it expects over 250 volunteers to contribute to its cause in the month of December alone.

Pastor Donnie Lane says the continued success of the church’s holiday programs is attributed to Panhandle’s generosity.

“Citychurch since 1997 has just been working as a pipeline for those resources, to move the resources where they’re needed most. And I don’t think it would be as successful in a different area. Panhandle folks are genuine, and they’re really quick to get involved,” said Lane.
