KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Regal Knoxville Turkey Trot just celebrated 41 years with a record-breaking turnout. There were 1,400 more runners than last year that hit the pavement, making it the annual run's largest crowd at more than 5,000.

"I do this every single year," Kaye Walker said. "I don't miss a single year."

Walker doesn't remember the last time she's missed a turkey trot in Knoxville. She said it's the best way to start her Thanksgiving every year, and is looking forward to running the course again next year.

"I wouldn't start my Thanksgiving without a KTC race," Walker said. "It's about the community."

Runners started at the Mill and Mine in downtown Knoxville and finished right where they started. The Little Gobbler Kid's Run led the Thanksgiving activities with an 8:00 a.m. s
