Honolulu police arrested a 60-year-old mam after he allegedly bit and kicked an officer in Waikiki this morning.

At about 7:32 a.m, patrol officers responded to an incident at Kalakaua and Ohua avenues, according to a Honolulu Police Department news release. “During the incident, a 60-year-old male suspect assaulted an HPD officer by biting and kicking the officer multiple times,” HPD said.

The officer had injuries to his hand and pain to his body, was treated at a hospital and is in good condition, police said.

The suspect was arrested for suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
