BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —

A Buncombe County Detention Center officer has been arrested, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities said Trayvis Williams was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault on a female by the Asheville Police Department.

Due to his arrest, Williams was put on administrative leave, which is standard while the sheriff's office conducts an internal review of the allegations.
