The Oregon women’s basketball team jumped out early on Old Dominion Thursday morning and didn’t let up, winning 84-46 at the Hoopfest Basketball Women’s Challenge in Frisco, Texas.
Guard Astera Tuhina led the Ducks (8-0) with 18 points off the bench, including eight in the second quarter when Oregon built a 41-25 halftime lead.
Tuhina shot 7 of 8 from the field for UO, which shot 49.2% compared to Old Dominion’s 27.4%. Kelsey Thompson led the Monarchs (5-3) with 10 points.
Oregon reserve forward Ehis Etute scored 15 points with eight rebounds. Mia Jacobs’ 10 points led the starters. Sofia Bell added nine.
Oregon’s bench scored 56 of the team’s 84 points. Sarah Rambus was the only starter to score in the third quarter, which the Ducks won 18-10. Etute scored eight points in the third.
