A Long Island teenager fatally shot his ex-girlfriend, then shot himself in the face on Wednesday but survived, police said.

The 17-year-old suspect, who lived with his parents in Nesconset, was not publicly identified due to his age, Suffolk County police said in an alert.

Emily Finn, an 18-year-old West Sayville resident , was killed in the shooting at the suspect’s home on Shenandoah Blvd. She’d come home from college and was dropping off some of the ex-boyfriend’s things.

“She wanted to speak to him face to face,” Suffolk County Police Det. Kevin Beyrer said at a press conference outside the home. “They had broken up a couple weeks ago. From what we’re hearing, he took the breakup very hard.”
