HONOLULU (Island News) – A Honolulu Police Department (HPD) officer sustained multiple injuries during an arrest that took place in Waikiki on Thursday morning.
According to HPD, at approximately 7:32 a.m. officers responded to Kalakaua Ave and Ohua Ave. During the incident, a 60-year-old man allegedly assaulted the officer by biting and kicking the officer multiple times.
As a result of the incident, the officer sustained injuries to his hand and pain to his body. He was treated at the hospital and was reported to be in good condition.
Officers located the suspect and arrested him at 7:41 a.m. for Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer in the First Degree.
