The Vikings are preparing for life without J.J. McCarthy.
The embattled second-year quarterback, who has really struggled so far this season, reported concussion-like symptoms on the flight home from a loss to the Packers on Sunday. Minnesota is bringing in reinforcements in case McCarthy is unable to go on Sunday against the Seahawks.
The Vikings signed former Falcons 2022 third-round pick Desmond Ridder to its practice squad on Thursday, ESPN first reported.
The Vikings are currently set to start Max Brosmer in the event that McCarthy can’t clear concussion protocol ahead of their Week 13 matchup in Seattle.
Previous backup Carson Wentz is out for the season with a shoulder injury, forcing the Vikings to go to their third-string quarterback.
Ridder has not played this season, alt
