CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Thanksgiving tradition in Chicopee brings thousands to the castle of knights every year. It’s an event that asks no questions, they just provide a free, hot Thanksgiving meal, and dessert, to anyone that walks in the door.

It was extremely heartwarming to participate in Thursday’s Event and meet so many people on both the giving and receiving ends of the meal. But an event to this scale takes a lot more work than you’d realize, and a lot more turkey. Mashed potatoes gravy, squash, and 2,200 pounds of turkey.

The Knights of Columbus Council 4044, and their friends and family, put in the work for nearly a week to prepare and serve 3,000 meals to anyone and everyone in need this Thanksgiving.
