With just five weeks left in 2025, Premier Doug Ford said he still doesn’t know if the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will open this year.
“I will get confirmation ... I’ll ask (Metrolinx CEO Michael Lindsay), I need a confirmation,” Ford responded at an unrelated press conference Thursday when asked if the long-delayed line would open this year.
“It’s driving me crazy, even more than the public. Like, just get the damn thing moving, but make it safe,” Ford added. “We’re going to get rid of all the kinks and finally get this thing up and moving.”
Earlier this year on the campaign trail , Ford had said he was “really, really confident” that the Crosstown would open this year, after 15 years under construction.
