WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Thanksgiving may be nearly over, but the holiday travel rush is just beginning, with AAA expecting this to be one of the busiest weekends of the year for drivers.
This year, AAA projected that more than 81 million people would travel at least 50 miles for the holiday, leaving the weekend full of busy roads and highways filled with people heading back home.
Weather concerns add to travel challenges
In Kansas, Storm Team 12 is warning travelers about an incoming storm system that could bring dangerous conditions.
“We’re still urging everybody to be extra careful because winds with this storm system could still top 50 miles an hour,” said Adrian Campa of Storm Team 12.
