Ely 5 was the highest ranked place in Cardiff on the The Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation 2025 and was ranked third. It covers an area of the Cardiff suburb that includes Grand Avenue and Stanway Road.

Trowbridge 8 ranked sixth in the report which looks at income, health, education, housing and access to services. The area of the suburb in east Cardiff highlighted includes Heol Trostre and parts of Coleford Drive.
