NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A citizen of Ghana was recently arrested at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing in Niagara Falls after federal officials discovered that he was wanted on multiple charges out of Jersey City, N.J., including intimidation, stalking and felony criminal sexual contact.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers said the man, later identified as 46-year-old Patrick Fiati, was in the pedestrian lane as he attempted to enter Canada to visit friends on Nov. 23. Officials said Fiati turned around on the bridge and returned to the United States, where officers conducted an inspection and discovered a National Crime Information Center match showing an active arrest warrant.
