A Tyneside school has “ambitious plans for growth” after being saved from closure for now. Monkseaton Middle School was one of several proposed for closure or merger in a controversial six-week consultation by the local authority.
The head teacher of Monkseaton Middle School, Kirsty Nichols-Mackay spoke to the Local Democracy Reporting Service on Thursday to share the governors' vision for the future of the school. Monkseaton Middle, alongside Langley Primary School, have identified viable alternatives to closure, with plans now on pause, as previously reported.
