TAMA, Iowa (KWWL) - South Tama County High School sophomore Corbin Shuckahosee joined the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York on Thursday.

Shuckahosee performed with Native Pride Productions, an Indigenous dance group. He is a member of the Meskwaki nation in Eastern Iowa and a direct descendant of Chief Red Cloud and Chief Good Cain Milk.

He said he helps to carry his grandfather's Indian name when performing.

Shuckahosee and his family travel across the country attending pow wows and performing in school functions.

"Our language is still intact," he said. "Our ceremonies are still going on in our communities across North America, and that's very important."
