LAS VEGAS — South Carolina women's basketball will play Texas for the fifth time in the calendar year after beating Duke 83-66 in the first game of the Players Era Championship tournament on Nov. 26.

The No. 2 Gamecocks (7-0) are playing the No. 4 Longhorns (6-0) in the championship game on Nov. 27 (8 p.m. ET, truTV). Texas beat No. 3 UCLA 76-65 in the first game of the day.

It's the first top 5 matchup for coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks this season.

South Carolina went 3-1 against the Longhorns during the 2024-25 season. It went 1-1 in the regular season, splitting the home-and-home series and then went undefeated in postseason play, including the SEC Tournament championship and Final Four.
