The Turkey Day Game in Hartford has been a tradition for a century, bringing the community together to watch a high-school football game.

“This tradition for Hartford brings out a lot of people that you don’t really see all year round and people that fly back home just for the turkey game,” said Larry Percy. Percy says he’s been attending the Turkey Day Game with his families for years.

“I was kind of disappointed when they didn’t have it a couple years ago, but I’m glad they brough it back,” Percy said.

Typically, rivals Hartford Public High School and Weaver High School face off, but this year the two sides came together after merging football teams this season due to a declining student population at the schools
