After two years of debate over whether to bid out Pulaski County government’s employee health insurance to another insurance provider, the Fiscal Court reached an unexpectedly harmonious agreement Tuesday — a stark contrast to the heated, two-and-a-half-hour dispute that unfolded nearly two years ago.
Last year, magistrates split 4–2 in a contentious vote to remain with the county’s longtime insurance agent, Neikirk Insurance. The dissenting votes — from Magistrates Mark Ranshaw and County Judge Executive Marshall Todd — were accompanied by sharp criticism of the provider.
