HIRAM, Ga. — Multiple fire and rescue crews in Paulding County responded to a house on fire in Hiram.

According to a Facebook post by Paulding County Fire & Rescue, the incident occurred at Baywood Crossings.

Officials said strong winds made it "especially difficult," but said firefighters did an outstanding job knocking down the fire and preventing it from spreading to neighboring homes.

The post said the home belongs to an officer with the Hiram Police Department. The Paulding Public Safety Appreciation Foundation created a fundraiser to support the officer and their family.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and none of the residents or firefighters were injured, according to the post.
