A senior firefighter, described as "old-fashioned", who failed to reprimand colleagues for 'belittling' a female colleague, has lost his unfair dismissal case . ‌

Simon Bailey, 58, who was in charge of a station at the Avon Fire and Rescue Service, received a written warning for not challenging crew members who referred to Sasha Acheson as a "fireman". She contended that the term had been outdated since the 1980s. ‌

Sasha, a former England rugby player, approached her watch manager seeking assistance to curb the 'sexism' from her colleagues. She alleged she was also referred to as 'a stick with tits'. ‌

However, her superior, boasting 30 years of experience, failed to take action against them and was subsequently issued a written warning.
